Chartered Accountants:
From Business Grant Writing to Government Grant Proposal Writing
The original Chartered Accountancy practice, founded in 1983,
grew organically on a reputation of no-compromise excellence
and fully personalized service. Consulting services then included
the full menu of business advice that went well beyond compliance
services, including Business Plan development, succession
planning, and tax planning. Business grant writing naturally
evolved as a complementary consulting service provided under
the umbrella of our Accountancy practice, delivering a complete
range of public accounting services to small to medium enterprises
(SMEs) and individuals.
From the late 1980s, the Chartered Accountancy practice had
helped many companies with SR&ED tax credits (effectively
a development assistance program) through government grant
proposal writing complemented by the natural fit of knowing
the financial and tax details of the company. By 2000, seeing
the enormous boost to a company’s growth and development from
government assistance grants, TSGI was formed to specialize
solely in development assistance programs on the shoulders
of the rigorous accounting and tax expertise of its team.
With TSGI’s public accounting roots, extensive network, and
knowledge of how public accounting firms work, we mesh our
consulting services seamlessly with your general income tax
and financial statement provider, whether external or internal
to your firm. We do not replace your external accountants;
we are engaged to work on this specialty tax area only.
Our (Lack Of) Boundaries
Founded in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, we work both locally
and nationally, for companies ranging in size from one inventor
to large global firms with a Canadian presence. Our network
of expertise can also put you in touch with invention help
with respect to patent advice, or other legal assistance as
needed.
