Research and Development Funding in Electrical Engineering
Companies we have worked with provide electrical and prototype
engineering services, primarily to the energy industry with
specific areas of expertise being electrical contracting,
controls, and engineering services.
Funding for Research
The Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED)
and Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) programs
have, for example, provided research and development funding
to companies that experimentally develop innovations in cost-effective
remote monitoring, measurement and control services in upstream
oil and gas production. A sample project that may be eligible
for funding for research may be to provide oil and gas companies
with the near-real time information, analysis, and tailored
reporting essential to proactively manage low-value assets
that cannot justify a more costly pure SCADA monitoring implementation.
As such, in-house technology research and development often
aims to experimentally develop a complete solution, including
hardware interfacing, wireless connectivity and software monitoring
systems.
Technology Research and Development
–
Your Company Doesn’t Have to be a Pioneer in Your Area
The research and development of electrical engineering systems
architecture frequently requires experimental development
to address challenges in both hardware and software areas
through product design and prototypes. Competitive, growing
companies in this field often remain so by employing a new
product development strategy (or existing product improvement)
that involves advancing and developing their products to meet
regulatory requirements necessary in a wide range of industries
as well as electrical engineering standards.
TSGI Experience
TSGI, located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada currently has clients
in, and has filed numerous SR&ED claims in the field of,
electrical engineering research and development.
