Availability of Foundation Grants
Foundation grants may be available for your research and development
project. Realistically, however, these are likely to be highly
targeted to specific fields, require a rigorous vetting /
approval / reporting process, and restrictive in the types
of costs funded. The private sector often may not be eligible.
The IP resulting from the work may have to enter the public
domain after completion, and grant foundations are likely
to lean towards scientific research rather than advancement
for new product development as the ultimate objective. Each
foundation has its own set of rules and guidelines requiring,
in some cases, significant up-front exploration of those rules.

for your purposes but your time to prepare an application
