Other Government Grant Programs
Government grant programs beyond SR&ED and IRAP may be available that suit the specifics of your research and development project. Government grant programs are very numerous and are constantly changing, but we would be pleased to assist your company with applying for a government grant. It is possible that an early stage of new product development may be suitable to such technology grants.

Government Grant Programs - Some Comments
Unlike the SR&ED tax credit however, these technology grants are likely to be competitive. Like foundation grants, they are also likely targeted to specific results or fields, require a rigorous vetting / approval / reporting process, and only fund certain types of costs. The Intellectual Property (IP) resulting from the work may have to enter the public domain at a specified period after completion, and Government grant programs are likely to lean towards basic or applied scientific research rather than advancement for new product or process development as the ultimate objective. Each program has a unique set of rules and guidelines requiring, in some cases, significant up-front exploration of those rules. Preparation of an application may proceed in stages of complexity, which reduces the time investment by all parties. TSGI would be happy to conduct a preliminary assessment of alternative Government grant programs for their suitability to your R&D, followed by more in-depth investigation of the best candidates if warranted, and then propose a suitable arrangement for bringing the necessary resources together to make a submission.
